Maryland Nautical Sales hosted cadets from the California Maritime Academy this summer, during a Baltimore port visit of the academy’s training ship, T/S Golden Bear. Ship’s agent Joseph Lis of Terminal Shipping arranged the tour to give the cadets insight into the products used onboard, and supplied by MNS.

Bob Davis, MNS President, welcomed the cadets and conducted a tour of MNS facilities, while cartographers Jessica Jenkins and Charles Singer demonstrated our Print on Demand chart production.

The 500' training ship GOLDEN BEAR is owned by California Maritime Academy, and voyages during the summer from their Vallejo homeport to ports in the Pacific, Caribbean, and Atlantic before returning to Vallejo. In each port, the ship offers tours for prospective students, their families, and high school or community college counselors. Hundreds of Cal Maritime cadets run the ship while overseen by licensed deck officers and engineers. They also take courses while underway, perform ship maintenance at sea and in port, and have liberty (free-time) in each port.
