GUIDELINES FOR THE PREPARATION FO THE CARGO SECURING MANUAL, 1997 Edition To comply with regulations VI/5 and VII/6 of the SOLAS Convention, the loading, stowage and securing of cargo units and cargo transport units on board all cargo-carrying vessels other than those that carry solid or liquid bulk cargoes must be in accordance with the instructions in a Cargo Securing Manual that has been approved by the appropriate Administration and drawn up to a standard at least equivalent to the guidelines adopted by IMO. The Guidelines for the Preparation of the Cargo Securing Manual were originally issued as MSC/Circ. 745 in June 1996. This circular was based on, but superseded, MSC/Circ. 385 (January 1985) and took into account the provisions of the Code of Safe Practice for Cargo Stowage and Securing, as amended. ISBN:
