This report contains a summary of the proceedings of the symposium held in Acapulco in 1976. The object of the symposium was to discuss various scientific, technical and economic implications of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973, and to exchange views on ways and means of complying with its requirements.
